Welcome to Michigan Technical Academy, a PreK-8 charter school with two campuses (elementary and middle) in greater Detroit.
Whether you are a current or prospective student, parent, teacher, staff or administrative member of Michigan Technical Academy, we are humbled and honored you would consider us. Throughout this Michigan Technical Academy website you will see and read about our innovative vision, model and approach to realizing the potential of every child that becomes part of our learning community at Michigan Technical Academy.
You may be wondering why we need a technology rich education or why any school should try and personalize learning? Is the world the same as it was when you went to school? Hardly. Yet, school has not kept up with a changing society, with changing college and workplace demands. Technology’s influence and impact is only going to continue to accelerate. If you believe your child is unique, unique in where they currently are in terms of learning, unique in both their strengths and weaknesses, unique in their rate of growth, then they need a way to learn, grow and develop that is unique. We call that personalized learning. We recruit, develop and train teachers who will personalize how they instruct your child in both one-on-one and small group formats that unleashes your child’s potential.
Goodbye cookie-cutter, one-size-fits-all education. Here in the Motor City Henry Ford was famous for saying that customers could have any color of the Ford Model T they wanted so long as it was black. Well, that may have been fine for the assembly line of 1908, but Ford has not stayed with this one size (or color) fits all customers and neither should our education.
